AP LANGUAGE AND COMPOSITION:

WEBSITE SCREENCAST AND INTRODUCTORY SURVEY

A special welcome to all new and returning Room 803 students.

If you are visiting this website for the first time, please take five minutes to view the class website Screencast. Please note that I created this in the summer of 2012 when the Mars Rover "Curiousity" touched down on the "red planet." It was also primarily created with incoming freshmen in mind; however, those of you who are new to Room 803 will benefit from the screencast (just explore the links related to AP Lang and whatever else insterests you). If you would like to take a look at the Voki of Captain Curiousity, "command click" on the image of the rover:

Otherwise, please go directly to the Screencast link below and complete the survey after viewing the Screencast. (Returning students can go directly to the survey.) When you look at the screencast you may notice that I have revised on number of the website page examples, but the screencast will give you a good introduction to some of the pages and tools that we will be working with during the year.

Here's the link to the website Screencast: (click here)

Now that you have taken a look at the screencast, please click on the link at the top of your class column and complete the survey that corresponds to your class. This survey has a two-fold purpose: 1) to learn a few things about you, and 2) to explore parts of the website (if you are not finished after 10 - 15 minutes, please simply respond, "Unsure" to the website search questions that stumped you or ask a classmate to help you). Note that for internet privacy concerns I have listed your last names only (also note that these class lists are based on an August 5th email from the Guidance Office).

NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS, PLEASE COMPLETE THE SURVEY PRIOR TO THE START OF SCHOOL.
(When you are finished, please go to Moodle and look for turnitin.com enrollment information and take a moment and enroll in the combined class and your hour's class. You'll notice that the first item in the Introductory Materials Section is the article: "What Students Need to Know about Rhetoric." This article can also be found on the AP Lang & Comp page of the website (link). As indicated in the email, please do a close reading of this article before our first class. Thanks!)
